History

In 1987, Alan James took his 12 years experience as the legendary Roy Orbison's lead guitarist, personal manager and agent and formed The Powerhouse Group. Alan started out by booking bands at various venues in southwest Florida. Having performed in at almost every major venue around the world he drew upon his extensive knowledge of the entertainment industry and provided a great service to his clientele. Alan's perfectionist attitude toward music and sound quickly earned him a first class reputation as a music agent and promoter.

In 1991 Alan and his partner Jessica, who is The Powerhouse Group's lead designer and creative director, broadened the company's capabilities to not only provide only the highest quality entertainment but to also provide full event production including floral design, décor, transportation and production. As a team, they created a company that prides itself on the importance of an in-depth, personal consultation with each client to determine their exact needs.

In the last 20 years, the Powerhouse Group has grown tremendously but the basic foundation upon which the company was built still remains. Alan and Jessica take tremendous pride in their company, which is demonstrated by their genuine care and concern that any event they put their name behind is of the highest quality and goes off flawlessly. Meet Us

Alan James, President

Alan has had an extensive career in the music business as a performer and a producer. He spent over twelve years traveling the world as musical director and personal manager for the international artist, Roy Orbison. His television credits with Roy and others include appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Midnight Special, Austin City Limits, Saturday Night Live, The Tom Snyder Show, and many Dick Clarke Specials. Alan has produced concerts, festivals, corporate meetings and social galas around the world and has the ability and knowledge to work with clients, production crew as well as artists. Alan has a great reputation amongst our clientele which include, most notably, Donald Trump, Bob Costas and Dan Marino, to name a few.




Jessica James, Vice President

Jessica began her experience as the owner of an upscale travel agency on Fifth Avenue in Naples, Florida, which focused on corporate travel. As her interest grew from corporate travel to all factions of corporate events, she teamed up with Alan James to further expand The Powerhouse Group's list of services. Rapidly, her experience and dedication to perfection became a known throughout the industry and she was called upon to create and produce events for many five star hotels, high-end social functions and destination management companies that were looking to expand beyond transportation. Jessica has the experience and creativity to style any event from floral design to decor and bring any vision to life. She takes a hands on approach to each event and always exceeds her clients' expectations.




Tiffany Guttenplan, Director of Entertainment and Business Affairs

Tiffany has been the Director of Business Affairs and Director of Entertainment for The Powerhouse Group since 2004. She attended law school in New York City where her main focus was Entertainment Law. Prior to joining The Powerhouse Group, she interned for talent agencies while in law school and upon graduation, worked as an attorney at a boutique entertainment law firm. She brought with her an extensive knowledge of contractual issues that arise in various artist and production agreements as well as a great understanding for the industry as a whole. Tiffany is licensed attorney in New York and Florida.






Jeff Richardson, Director of Sales

Jeff has over 15 years of experience in the Naples and South Florida markets. In that time he has developed close working relationships with all area resort properties, as well as establishing strong connections with all area vendors. Having worked with a very diverse spectrum of corporations, incentive houses, and associations, Jeff understands each group has it's own unique personality, and will work with the planner to tailor a program that supports that diversity.




Patricia Walsh, Operations Manager

Pat has been working with The Powerhouse Group since 2001, and in that time has distinguished herself as an invaluable asset to our operation in the areas of program management and transportation management. Her can-do attitude and ability to get the job done is a huge asset for any program and has caught the attention of our staff and clients alike. Pat Walsh has been in the event planning industry for 27 years and has become a large part of our organization's success.
